email  homepage So, we have lastly closed the book on 2010. Now, as we transition into the brand-new year, this
is when many people show back on the year before. In the motion picture world, this is
also when critics and movie enthusiasts put in the time to examine
the past year. Not to mention, this is awards season. With the Critics' Choice Awards
in just a number of weeks and the Oscars less than 2 months
ago, are enough to state the red carpet is formally out.

Today, I'm going to throw myself into that very ring as we
bring you Lazy person Club's 2010 Film Awards. In advance, though, I wish to proceed and say, I'm
going to do this different than those big award shows.

For one, you'll see a few of the normal categories, but also there will be some off-beat ones.
Likewise, call me crazy, but I think the biggest factor in judging a film is its entertainment
worth. Granted all of the other little facets of making a film help
to make a movie much better, however I think home entertainment is
successful a film's technical expertise in order to define whether it is great or not.
So, you won't be seeing me awarding these "artsy" movies just
because of their "cinematic accomplishment" (whatever the hell that
is). Instead, I'll be evaluating on good ole home entertainment worth (with acting, story,
and so on playing elements).

So, without more ado, here are the winners of the first yearly Lazy-bones Club Motion Picture Awards.

Finest Movie: Creation

For me this came down to Inception and Black Swan. I have actually
truthfully spent days mulling it over in my head which would be
my motion picture of the year. However, in the end, Beginning triumphes.
Inceptionwas likewise perfect in a sense.

With smart writing, good acting, fun action, fantastic cinematography
and so on and so on, the movie proved to be incredible design with
terrific compound. Nolan showed once again here why he is one of (if not THE) most sought after filmmakers today.

A narrative genius. After viewing this movie, it made me recognize what
a god-send Nolan is to Hollywood truly. Everybody
in Hollywood should be taking notes. This is precisely how a blockbuster film
ought to be done. Let's not kid ourselves, smash hit action films will
continue to be the support of Hollywood for some time to come.
While this is alright, the issue usually lies in that they're so shallow and cliche
and simply "eh". They usually simply count on cool action sequences
and remarkable looking special impacts. Not Inception, though.
This movie provides all that, however then in fact brings compound to that design giving
us an engaging and mind-bending/intelligent story to go
with it. This ideal blend makes Beginning my motion picture of the
year.

Finest Actor: James Franco - 127 Hours

I've stated it before and I'll state it once again: you wish to check the benefit of an actor?
Throw him in a film where he is practically the only one ever on-screen and he has to bring the whole motion picture himself.
Where the entire weight of the entire film rests most assuredly on his shoulders.
Will he shine? Will he crumble? This is the test. Others have actually shown themselves in the
same way (Will Smith, Tom Hanks). And truly I think this (and the "retard function") is one of the most significant ways to check an actor and see
if he's one of the greats. So, get in James Franco and 127 Hours.
Playing a mountain climber that gets caught under a stone and is all
alone, Franco is left to carry an entire movie on his own. Does he be successful?
Damn right he does. With flying colors at that. Keeping it interesting, communicating a variety of
emotions throughout the movie and sucking you in all on his own, Franco clearly reveals he had the guts to tackle such
an overwhelming job and triumph. For that reason, he's my star of the year.

Finest Starlet: Natalie Portman - Black Swan

Natalie's efficiency in the Aronofsky psychological thriller is
definitely brilliant. Her best work to-date in my viewpoint.
Contributing that requires her to ultimately shift from sweet little ignorant princess woman to
girl-gone-wild (in a dark side kinda method), she hits every beat without missing out
on a step. I think the most significant aspect for a great actor/actress is range.
Any person can shine in a part that was simply made
for them (in line with their natural persona), however variety and playing various personas/characters is where an actor/actress can reveal their
real prowess. In Black Swanalone, Natalie Portman has
actually shown, in just the 2 hours, that she
has more range than the majority of actresses around.
She showed more variety in one efficiency than a lot of do in their whole career.
For such a fantastic efficiency Natalie Portman gets my vote as actress of the
year. I don't think this is even up for dispute.

Best Supporting Star: Christian Bale - The Fighter

Here's another that I feel is simply a provided and isn't up for dispute.
Bale absolutely stole the show in every scene he appeared in The Fighter The weight reduction alone shows Bale's commitment to
his craft. Additionally, the method he was able to lose himself because crackhead personality and into the function of Dicky Eklund simply further proved what an amazing actor Bale is.
To really show you how dazzling his performance was, the video clip of real-life Dicky during the credits
showed you just how well Bale nailed that efficiency. It needed to practically be like looking
in a mirror for Dicky.

Best Supporting Starlet: Melissa Leo - The Fighter.

Yes, the supporting cast of The Fighter was just excellent.
They're the ones that kept this film afloat. Leo's turn as the "white trash" overbearing mother
was fantastic and was another (together with Bale's efficiency) that actually assisted this film shine.
Without these two, The Fighter bombs.

Best Director: Darren Aronofsky - Black Swan

Like I said, finest film was down to Black Swan and Creation for
me. Aronofsky's work here was damn near best.
This was a remarkably directed film. From the camera shots to the music to
the story-telling to what he left his cast, Aronofsky did a terrific job in conveying this thriller story
very appropriately on all levels. As one of
my favorite modern directors, it's not a surprise that Aronofsky continues to impress every year.

Finest Screenplay: Mark Heyman, Andres Heinz
and John McLaughlin - Black Swan

For me, screenplay/story is probably the biggest
consider figuring out whether a motion picture is entertaining.
Afterall, without an interesting and amusing story, then your motion picture is simply going to
suck. That being stated, it's not a surprise that this, for
me, boiled down to Black Swan and Inceptionagain; the two films vying for my
Finest Film award. However, in the end I have to go with Black Swan edging out in this
category. The story was great in my viewpoint. Extremely exhilarating and appealing story
that left you on your seat the whole while through.

To top it off, though, was all the subtext present throughout the movie.
From the "life mimics art" to the "greed can consume all of us" to
the commentary of just how much pressure can be put on a performer and
the risks they occur when losing themselves in a performance in order to be "best".
This script had all of it and fired on many cylinders.

Truly was a fantastic story and I loved how the primary character's life began to
mirror the very character she was trying to play on stage.

Finest Ensemble Cast: The Fighter

I guess after the previous supporting awards, this need to come as not
a surprise. Nevertheless, I will say I was
likewise seriously thinking about The Town for this award which had a great well-rounded performance from its entire cast.

Nevertheless, the cast of The Fighter carried out well in all locations.
Even Mark Wahlberg was decent enough (and I don't particularly look
after him). Though, he was the weak spot and his real character was dull.
Nevertheless, everyone else kipped down great performances
that, as a whole, actually pulled you into the family in the
film. Then the efficiencies of Bale and Leo truly simply pushed
the total ensemble over the top. On The Other Hand, Amy Adams provided a very good efficiency also standing out.

Breakout Efficiency of the Year: Jennifer Lawrence - Winter season's Bone

The movie itself, I found was fairly overrated.
Nevertheless, Jennifer Lawrence in Winter season's Bone did an absolutely wonderful job of playing the role of Ree Dolly.
If not for her, the entire movie would have been a wash. However,
her efficiency was extremely great to see.
It made it much more beneficial as I got to witness that this girl
is actually a very adept actress. Before this, I had just seen her in 'The
Costs Engvall Show' where she plays the typical cliche ditzy teenage girl.

Which, honestly, there are a million and one women in the country that
could pull that off. Enjoying her go from that ditzy teen to this gritty and
convincing efficiency was certainly a reward for me and revealed me
her worth. For that, she receives my Breakout Efficiency of the Year award.

Best Action Motion Picture: Creation

Inception wins here. Of course being my Finest Movie of the Year, it's
going to also win in its particular genre classification. The movie fires on all cylinders for a nearly continuously joyride,
particularly for the last half of the movie. The last half specifically, with
the weapon fights and goes after and combats, and
so on prove to be an adrenalin rush of action. Again, this is basically the Hollywood-action-blockbuster
film refined.

Finest Funny: Get Him to the Greek

Ok, here's where some may disagree with me (if they have not
currently). Nevertheless, it's my belief that Finest Comedy motion picture should
primarily be based on which film was the funniest.
Given, there were motion pictures I liked better total that fall into the comedy category (Scott Pilgrim), however
on the laugh scale they didn't touch Get Him
to the Greek. Russell Brand is simply hilarious. And his part as the common rock star
was excellent and humorous. Even "P Diddy" (who I dislike) had me cracking up throughout this movie.
For me, it truly was the funniest film of the year.

Finest Cartoon Animation: How to Train Your Dragon

Yep, I'm doing it. I'm kicking Pixar to the curb this year and letting another person have Finest Animated prize.
Approved, I truly delighted in Toy Story 3, but for me How to Train Your
Dragon was just the better movie and was more fun. It was
cute, funny, motivating in its own method and rejuvenating.
I truly took pleasure in the motion picture. How to Train Your Dragon was one of those that had heart and depth and
was really lovely (both story-wise and animation). One that really interest both grownups
and kids alike.

Finest Horror Movie: Paranormal Activity 2

I enjoyed the first one and the sequel proves no various.
Paranormal Activity has actually been something of a hero
for the scary genre I believe. And part 2 makes it a saving grace for Hollywood as the franchise goes mainstream.
With excellent pacing and 'storytelling',
Paranormal Activity 2, like its predecessor, brings the art of
tension and thriller back to a seemingly hollowed out genre.
It does a great task of really getting into your creativity and letting it
cut loose, in turn terrifying yourself. Truly a rejuvenating motion picture in the genre, I can't wait on part
3 this fall.

Finest Thriller: The Town

Yes, I understand Black Swan is a thriller, and I definitely
agree that it's the much better movie. However, like the funny film, I feel the Best Thriller motion picture need to be evaluated practically entirely on the
"excitement" element. And while Black Swan did engulf me and keep in thrilled, The Town pulled that
aspect off a bit much better. Maybe because the action of it accommodated that,
I do not understand. Nevertheless, The Town just had me really on the edge of
my seat from start to finish basically. The action was good, the film was so
extreme and the whole of it just never ever let up once
it took off running, that I could not assist but be enthralled as I went on that adventure flight.

Finest Docudrama: The Social Media

Social Networking has been spreading like wildfire in the past years,
so it comes as not a surprise that it would eventually end up being the basis of a film.
The Social Network isn't simply any movie though. Turning into one of the
most discussed motion pictures of the year and making a genuine movie to be motion picture of the year, the film
is a fantastic well-rounded movie that everybody ought
to see. And it might be among the most considerable movies
of modern (that or its equivalent 'Catfish').

Finest Indie Movie: Buried

Another thriller that simply keeps you enthralled throughout
(yes it appears I have a thing for thriller type movies).
With such a very little set and very little story and cast, Buried simply appears like
it's set to disappoint. Regardless of all these threats though it
manages to be successful and end up being an extremely awesome and fascinating film, with
Reynolds carrying it well.

Best Battle: Zero-Gravity Hallway Fight - Creation

The visuals and special results was just one facet of what
made Creation so amazing for me. And this fight scene was among those that stood out above the rest.
Innovative, cool to watch, action-packed, it truly was just an actually fun battle and quite amazing.

Tearjerker of the Year: Toy Story 3

Did I personally cry? No. Nevertheless, Toy Story 3 I feel
is the movie of the year that will more than likely make somebody cry.
Possibly it's the connection after having actually matured with the
series. Perhaps it's simply the depth of feeling developed
in some scenes that hit home for many people in a real-life way.
Whatever it is, Toy Story 3 is sure to get the water supply running
for many individuals. With scenes like the incinerator scene and Andy's final time
with the toys (especially when he recognizes Woody remains in there
and he ends up parting with the toy that began all of it), Toy Story 3
definitely has its minutes that truly pull on those heart-strings.

Best On-Screen Couple: Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams - Blue Valentine

Both of these stars are a few of the much better young stars around
today (Gosling being my option for best star under 30 even).
They really show their worth here in this movie also.
Providing fantastic and powerful efficiencies the two shine on the screen together.
The chemistry between them is definitely splendid and the genuine/real emotion they convey over the course of the movie provides for an excellent watch.

Finest Villain: Gideon Graves (Jason Schwartzman) - Scott Pilgrim vs the World

Jason Schwartzman is just unconventionally amusing most every
time I see him. His appearance in Scott Pilgrim was just icing on the cake for a great
movie. Traditional Schwartzman provided humor
and intelligence to the function, standing out as
my preferred villain of a movie filled with villains.

Worst Film of the Year: The Last Airbender

I'm not even going to say anything. Everyone understands
it sucks. Shyamalan again shows, that in spite of his last film (The
Happening being terrible) that he can still outshine himself and
make a remarkably even worse film than he ever has. The man is
spiraling out of control directly down the drain.

The Majority Of Overrated Motion Picture of the Year: The
Kids Are All Right

I'm sorry. It wasn't that good. The performing was good.
Mark Ruffalo was pretty much the conserving grace
of the motion picture. Other than that the movie was so pompous and contrived and just flat out boring.
Not almost as good as individuals made it out to be (not even the efficiencies).
Wasn't funny or humorous at all. And the film certainly does not deserve even being thought about as
a Best Movie candidate.

Many Underrated Motion Picture of the Year: Kick-Ass

Sure, the motion picture got decent evaluations, even did moderately well in its opening weekend.
However, I feel Kick-Ass was just underappreciated for the year.
Quite honestly, the film, well ... kicked ass. In fact, it may go down as one of my Leading 10
or 15 favorite motion pictures of the year. It's one of the best
comics adjustments I have actually seen in a long while. For me,
it was even better than it's competitorScott Pilgrim. A really
remarkable and enjoyable movie that ought to have been given more credit.
Very entertaining and more individuals need to offer it a shot.

Finest TV Program (Drama): The Strolling Dead

Admittedly, my generally TELEVISION show seeing
includes sitcoms/comedies. Nevertheless, there are a couple of dramas I view here and there.

This year's The Strolling Dead proved to be one of those brand-new
programs that drug me in and made me like it. Making me excited
to see the next season, and dissatisfied I'll have to
wait so long.

Best TELEVISION Show (Comedy): Modern Family

With a funny ensemble cast and uproarious writing, Modern Household has shown to be among
my preferred new TV programs just recently.
And with 'The Workplace' being hit or miss anymore, Modern Familyis the one that consistently has me chuckling one of the
most. Most especially, Eric Stonestreet as "Cam" constantly makes
me laugh and truly steals the show nearly
each time he appears. His efficiency is what puts this one
over the edge for me. Though, Big Bang Theory
and Jim Parsons efficiency do be available in an extremely close 2nd for me.
